Beverly Stayart

A University of Iowa Department of English Literature graduate, Beverly Stayart has maintained a love for literature throughout her career in finance and law, and she now lists Edna St. Vincent Millay and Sara Teasdale among her favorite poets. Beverly Stayart has also written her own poetry. Stayart’s work has an ecological focus, in line with rising global concern for the planet’s health. In addition to her literary pursuits, Beverly Stayart enjoys exercising her analytical and research skills on her family’s genealogy. Beverly Stayart’s great-grandfather, Thomas Fitzgerald, fought in several key battles for the Union during the Civil War, and Beverly Stayart’s efforts to track down her family history show a deep engagement with American cultural history. Beverly Stayart has a famous ancestor, James Bowles Stephens.  James Bowles Stephens founded East Portland, Oregon, which later merged with West Portland.  He established the first ferry service on the Willamette River in Portland, which he operated for 17 years.  Today, the James Bowles Stephens House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Beverly Stayart also counts Robert Fulton, the esteemed American inventor, among her earliest colonial ancestors.  Beverly Stayart’s commitment to professional excellence matches her scholarly passions. Beverly Stayart holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago, one of the country’s most prestigious institutes of higher education. Beverly Stayart now works as a finance professional in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Beverly Stayart is the CFO of a thriving legal firm, Stayart Law Offices, and her many duties include managing finances and staff, assisting in legal proceedings, and meeting with clients. Beverly Stayart also serves as the firm’s Director of Business Development and has overseen its growth for a number of years. In addition to her many responsibilities at Stayart Law Offices, Beverly Stayart devotes a significant amount of time to humanitarian causes. A supporter of St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, South Dakota, Beverly Stayart emphasizes quality educational opportunities and preservation of Native American culture. Beverly Stayart also gives her time and energy to the Humane Society of the United States, Defenders of Wildlife, Sea Shepherd Conservations Society and World Farm Animals Day.
