IAPPA offers training courses taught by certified instructors for security agencies, personal protection agents, law enforcement officers, and international military units. Dr. Stephen Barnhart firmly believes in contributing to worthy causes and supports the United Service Organizations, Inc. (USO), the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the Humane Society of the United States. Dr. Stephen Barnhart also belongs to many professional organizations, including the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), the Missouri Sheriffs' Association, Shriners International, and the Wyandotte Masonic Lodge #3, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, in Kansas City, Kansas. For his exemplary community service, the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, which recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions, gave Dr. Stephen Barnhart the President's Volunteer Service Award. Additionally, he holds membership and serves as a Founder of the Presidential Prayer Team, Inc., a national ministry established in 2001 to pray on the behalf of America, our President, and the United States Armed Forces. Dr. Stephen R. Barnhart has held the position of Honorary Chairman for the State of Missouri, serving on the Presidential Business Commission, and he was also listed as the "Businessman of the Year" in the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Barnhart is also a special consultant to a major law enforcement agency in the State of Missouri, a member of the Association of the CARABINIERI in Italy, and a member of the Ararat Provost Marshal of Kansas City. In addition to his professional life and civic work, Dr. Stephen Barnhart participates in martial arts, travel, and weight lifting. Dr. Stephen Barnhart is instrumental in restructuring Non-Profit Religious Organizations of proven credibility. While attending International University of Panama, Dr. Stephen R. Barnhart earn the distinction of Magna Cum Laude. The University establishes International Relations and cooperative programs for their selective studies. After graduation, Dr. Stephen R. Barnhart was appointed the position of Associate Professor.
In 1887 the California Legislature approved the creation of the Northern Branch of the State Normal School for the purpose of training and educating teachers.
