Gary Talarico has spent almost three decades as a financial executive specializing in investment banking and private equity banking. Speaking fluent Japanese is another skill Gary Talarico has employed in his career, which has been almost evenly split between the U.S. and Japan. He has recently established his own advisory firm named Cora Street Partners that specializes in providing strategic advice to selected corporations, family offices and private equity firms. Gary Talarico earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Political Science from Illinois State University, then went on to earn a Master's degree in International Relations from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University. During his first job for Lehman Brothers, Gary Talarico was one of the founding members of the Investment Banking Division in Tokyo, Japan. Gary Talarico was subsequently appointed Managing Director for the Financial Services Group in the United States. Gary Talarico followed that position to become Managing Director and Global Corporate Finance Head for the Deutsche Bank Group in Tokyo, Japan. Next, Gary Talarico became Managing Director for Sun Capital Partners, Inc. in New York, and opened its Tokyo office, overseeing operations for New York and Tokyo. Aided by his hand-picked team of 15 investment professionals, Gary Talarico and his team acquired more than 20 distressed and underperforming companies in order to restructure them. With his wife Linda Filardi, Gary Talarico established the Gary Talarico and Linda Filardi Fellowship at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C. Gary Talarico is an Advisory Board Member of SAIS and a member of the Board of Directors of the Japan Society in New York. His wife, Linda Filardi, has also recently joined the SAIS Advisory Board. Linda Filardi and Gary Talarico donated The Alex and Lily Talarico School, named after their children, to the village of Chhuk Pul, as part of The Cambodia Rural School Project. Gary Talarico lives with his wife Linda and his children Alex and Lily in New York City.
