Decide if this is a realistic amount or if there is to b e some flexibility if it starts looking like it is going over budget. Also assess the home that is to be remodeled and the area that it is in. Decide if the remodeling will bring it into line with other properties in the area or if it will make it far superior to other surrounding properties.

If you are contracting out all the work, then again ask around to see who people recommend, and if possible ask to go round and see some of their completed work, and also talk to previous customers to see how they found them.
