When you are discussing the best actors working today, one actor that is forever in the discussion is Robert De Niro. Regardless of if he's starring in a very drama, comedy or perhaps animated film, Robert De Niro's enthusiasm and love for acting always seems to glow. He has completed it all, and needs to be as successful as he is.

Here are my 5 best favorite Robert De Niro movies of all time.

Probably my personal favorite Robert De Niro film in recent history may be the Martin Scorsese directed mafia film Goodfellas. This movie won the Academy Award for the most powerful picture in 1991, with justified reason. This is a true rags to riches story, and so happens to be using the true story of Henry Hill.

Another movie that is definitely on my 5 best list is Heat. This movie is just one of not many that stars both Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, most likely the two greatest actors working today. This movie is directed by Michael Mann which is an absolutely incredible film.

Casino is just one of my personal favorite films that unexpectedly happens to star this excellent actor. It came as no surpise until this movie was awesome because it had the certified stamp of De Niro, Pesci and Scorsese cooperating, a surefire combination for a memorable film.

Sleepers is another film that produces the cut personally. Make no mistake, this movie is hard to watch. While he may not be the forefront of the film, he certainly adds to this film's brilliance. This movie also stars Brad Pitt, Billy Crudup, Dustin Hoffman and Kevin Bacon.

Finally, It seemed like A Bronx Tale would have been a film that was worth mentioning. This really is mostly of the mob films that stars Robert De Niro because good guy! Chazz Palmienteri, who also happened to write the script, plays the bad guy in this one.

While these films comprise my five favorites, I might consider it wise to publish a follow-up article listing films 6-10 very soon.
