Marike Jager, born 1979 in Leusden (Netherlands), is a singer songwriter, guitarist and pianist. She learned to play guitar during her trip in Astralia, New-Zeland, Asia and South Africa. Back to the Netherlands she start to play on stage with her first band Hey Day.
After a first critically acclaimed album (The Beauty Around - 2006), she realized her sophomore album Celia Trigger on her own label Morning Coffee Records in late 2008. The first song is like a bluesy tune with a jazzy mood, this song take you for trip in a universe that seems so far, but finally most closer than we think. The trip goes on during the full album, and continue after. Marike create her univers with a mix of folk, jazz and pop, her songs are unique and easily recognizable. She’s a wonderful singer with a beautiful and confident voice. Her lyrics are fun, passionate and full of life.
Her work is dynamic, powerful and gives a positive vibe.
