This is not very new, but I just discovered this sweet artist who really deserves an exposure for her engaging and superb collection of original songs.
Sarah Sample is a beautiful Mormon singer-songwriter from Seattle, guitarist, performer, and story-teller. Her music instantly draws me into her world, and the first thing that came in my mind is her simplicity and her authenticity: her small voice, her short haircut and her allure remind me our French artist Elsa Siugo, they both have this unique sense on how delivering song after heart-felt song with passion and artistry. Sarah Sample and as Elsa Siugo are some of these artists who are in the veins of 70’s classical acoustic folk guitar like Joni Mitchell, janis Ian, Joplin and all of those famous name.
BORN TO FLY is Sarah Sample’s latest and best effort to date, the EP was released on January 23, 2009 on Ramona Pq Records and recorded at the studio of Scott Wiley in Provo, Utah. BORN TO FLY is further strengthened by producer Scott Wiley and contributors including Paul Jacobsen, Ryan Tanner and Pat Campbell.
Delightful in every way, each songs of the EP is a gem, you should give this a real listen and you might find yourself totally impressed, close your eyes and let her music takes you away.
