Based in New Gloucester, Maine, Keith Smaldon operates out of USI/Goldman Sachs Partners’ offices in Portland, Maine, and Woburn, Massachusetts, and conducts business throughout New England. Keith Smaldon came to USI/Goldman Sachs Capital Partners after nearly two years as Senior Vice President and Director of Business Development at Mazonson, LLC in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Focusing on the intricate middle market concerns of Mazonson, LLC, Keith Smaldon increased and emboldened his company’s presence in this area. In addition, Keith Smaldon brought a new value proposition to four major Mazonson products—Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty, Executive Benefits, and Private Client Group—which ensured the product differentiation, superior service, and improved efficiency of company operations. A valued executive known for adding new businesses to Mazonson’s client roster, Keith Smaldon helped establish his department as an integral part of the organization, generating 35% of new business revenues. At Mazonson, LLC, Keith Smaldon concentrated on the acquisition of clients in the social services, medical, construction, real estate, transportation, and other large industries. Serving various firms in the insurance industry for more than 30 years, Keith Smaldon counts Hays Companies; Marsh, Inc.; RFC Intermediaries; and Eagle Intermediaries among his former employers. Keith Smaldon received advanced training through The Chartered Insurance Institute, College of Insurance, Harvard Business School, and an apprenticeship program at Lloyd’s of London.
