An alumnus of the University of Southern California Law School, Kent Wakeford began his professional career upon graduation. Armed with his Juris Doctor and a bevy of impressive academic accomplishments, Kent Wakeford commenced employment as an Attorney with O’Melveny & Myers. Specializing in media and entertainment law, Kent Wakeford worked closely with a number of publishing companies, film studios, and record labels in completing investments, acquisitions, and film financing. After three years, Kent Wakeford began a career in digital media as the Vice President of American Online (AOL). As Vice President, Kent Wakeford was instrumental in the development and maintenance of partnerships for AOL’s suite of web properties, including Moviefone, AOL Instant Messenger, and MapQuest. Kent Wakeford next took a role as President of The Enthusiast Network, LLC, where, in addition to increasing revenue, he led the acquisition of a major competitor. Most recently, Kent Wakeford served as the Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for Clearspring Technologies, Inc. Currently, Kent Wakeford serves as an independent legal and business consultant for a wide variety of digital and social media companies. Kent Wakeford leverages his previous experience in digital media to consult with a number of companies on matters pertaining to application development relationships, serving platform agreements, online marketing relationships, and content syndication. Having established a solid reputation as a keen businessman and legal expert, Kent Wakeford is sought after by many of the most popular names in digital media, including MySpace and Bebo, as well as leading widget and viral syndication company and Facebook fan community application. Mr. Wakeford was responsible for strategic and day-to-day activities, including a staff of 22 employees, P&L management, and bringing the company to a cash flow positive position. Mr. Wakeford increased revenue with over 100% year-over-year growth, grew unique visitors to over 900,000 per month and pages views to over 15,000,000 per month.
Mr. Wakeford sourced and negotiated acquisitions of a major competitor and various enthusiast websites. The Enthusiast Network was sold in 2007.

Mr. Wakeford spent five years at AOL and held various positions as Vice President where he was responsible for leading a team charged with developing strategies and partnerships across AOL's web properties, including Netscape, CompuServe, AIM, DigitalCities, Spinner, WinAmp, ICQ, MapQuest, MovieFone, and America Online. Mr. Wakeford developed cross-platform marketing programs with industry leading retail, travel, health, entertainment, search, finance, and small business companies. He facilitated integrated marketing partnerships across TimeWarner's family of brands including Time, Inc., Warner Bros., CNN, and Fortune.
Mr. Wakeford represented AOL on the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) task force to negotiate and publish the AAAA's standard terms and conditions V.2.
