Kristin Geer founded the nonprofit organization Cancurables Foundation after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Though she won her fight against cancer, Geer and the foundation want to enable every women to get early diagnosis of this silent killer, which is usually only found in the later stages of development. It is the goal of Kristin Geer and every volunteer at the Cancurables Foundation to raise awareness and funding for the development of early detection screening tests for ovarian cancer.

Prior to her work with the Cancurables Foundation, Kristin Geer enjoyed a lengthy career as a news anchor and investigative reporter for local news stations KTHI/KVLY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota; KPVI-TV in Pocatello, Idaho; Fox 23 News in Albany, New York; and KSTP-TV in Minneapolis. During her career, Geer earned numerous awards for her investigative work, including three Emmy awards, two regional Edward R. Murrow awards, and two Society of Professional Journalists Investigative awards. Geer was honored for her work in research and education by the Angel Foundation, an organization that helps families throughout Minnesota cope with the emotional and financial impact of cancer.

Outside of the Cancurables Foundation, Kristin Geer also serves as a benefit committee member for the PACER Foundation. In her free time, she leads an active life and enjoys traveling, golf, yoga, running, reading, and attending various Minnesota sporting events. Geer also explores her creative side through art appreciation, cooking, genealogy, and music concerts. Geer most enjoys being with her husband and their three-year-old child, attending charity events, and being involved in the Colonial Church.

  • Wall to Wall Media : 01/2006 - 01/2010
    Owner/Producer
    Kristin also started her own video production company called Wall to Wall Media. Through this company, she was able to create a documentary about the challenges she and her husband Brad faced in trying to build an environmentally-friendly home. Their goal was to build a "green" and "healthy" home for their family by using non-traditional, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic building materials. In addition to the Blueprint for Green documentary show, Kristin also produced numerous other television shows including Kent Hrbek Outdoors, Cook What You Catch and the Gopher Coach's Football and Basketball Shows. Kristin and her company also produced dozens of high-end HD corporate videos and commercials for companies like Cargill, Lester Building Systems, Lund Boats, Africa Jam, and KLN Enterprises.
