Lawrence A Dunn MD

Lawrence A. Dunn, MD, is a private practitioner of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology in North Carolina. Over the course of his more than 25 years as a doctor, Dr. Dunn has played a variety of roles that have included researcher, professor, director, and physician. All the while, Lawrence A. Dunn, MD, has been deeply invested in contributing to the medical psychiatry community, and his research has appeared in peer-reviewed publications including the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Psychopharmacology, The American Journal of Psychiatry, and the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry. He has contributed to research efforts on diagnosing schizophrenia, the cost-effectiveness of various medications, and comparisons of various drugs and their effects. He has also written a chapter in the book Modern Drug Discovery Technologies.

As an inventor, Dr. Dunn has pioneered a system for point-of-use medication control called the DosePoint dispenser. The device currently has a patent pending with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Lawrence A. Dunn, MD, was educated at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, where he graduated cum laude. He received his doctorate at the University of Michigan shortly before beginning his residency at the Duke University Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Dunn has been certified by the American Academy of Pain Management.
