The bearer of a BA, an MA, and a PhD in English Literature, Lisa Kingstone was educated at Barnard College (where she was a cum laude graduate), Columbia University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, respectively. 
 Currently an English Professor at the University of Connecticut Hartford, she has spanned a variety of subjects in 19th and 20th century English literature: Transcendentalism, African American literature, the short story, Shakespeare, Gothic, and Modernism. 

 As a professional writer and freelance editor, Lisa Kingstone has published travel articles, essays, author profiles, book reviews, and features for publications including the Hartford Courant, Publishers Weekly, Connecticut Magazine, and Hadassah Magazine.
