About Melissa McGuire:
Responsible for promoting and coordinating events for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)’s Institute for Tuberculosis Research, Melissa McGuire presides over the development and dissemination of marketing materials. In 2009, Melissa McGuire secured media coverage for the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Pharmacy Healthy Living in the City Garden Walk.
More recently, she supervised the pre- and post-production and content creation for a short documentary series about the Institute for Tuberculosis Research that she will use for World TB Day. In order to improve the efficiency and efficacy of communication between personnel responsible for multiple projects, Melissa McGuire implemented cloud-computing technology from 37signals, LLC.
Involved in other aspects of technological development, she also generated content for the institute’s new website and approves written and electronic promotional materials. After receiving a Master of Public Health, Melissa McGuire attended the University of Illinois at Chicago as a graduate student, earning her Master of Social Work with an emphasis in Community Development.
