Michelle Bassi

An experienced public speaker and blogger on a mission, Michelle Bassi has enlightened thousands of high-school students throughout the tri-state area of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey on the dangers of driving under the influence. Sadly, Bassi is well aware of the consequence of drunk driving as she lost her parents and grandmother in a fatal vehicle accident caused by a drunk driver on Christmas Day 2007. In the years since the tragedy, Michelle Bassi has worked with MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), spoken publicly about her own experience, put together an online presentation for alcohol-awareness groups, and blogged on the subject of drunk driving events and related laws.

Her work history includes two years as Executive Assistant to the President of The Atlantic Group in Wilton, Connecticut, where she interacted with clients, brokers, and vendors on the President's behalf. Michelle Bassi also worked for MTV Networks in Manhattan as a Commercial Operations Specialist responsible for the accuracy and placement of commercials. At Cruist Resort & World Travel, Inc., in Fairfield, Connecticut, she became a Travel Specialist, a position that fueled her passion for traveling internationally. In this post, Michelle Bassi developed detailed itineraries, upsold clients, and collaborated with vendors to ensure client satisfaction.

An accomplished dancer, Bassi was Co-Captain of the Sacred Heart Dance Team while attending Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where she earned a B.S. in Media Studies and Communications. Michelle Bassi grew up lakeside and enjoys most water sports, including sailing, canoeing, and kayaking. Michelle Bassi was a member of the swim-team throughout her school years, and has taught the sport as well as acted as a lifeguard. A lover of fitness, Bassi still works out with trainers 2 to 4 times a week. She also makes time to visit Disney World at least twice a year to relive her happy memories of childhood.
