A citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, Scott Mead doesn't let distance become a barrier for his involvement in a number of philanthropic and business activities taking place in either geographic location.
An Upbringing & Professional Experience Spanning Continents
Born in the United States and a native of Pennsylvania, Scott Mead earned his B.A. from Harvard College (Cum Laud honors in 1977); his M.Phil from Emmanuel College at Cambridge University (graduated 1979) where he was also bestowed the honor of Harvard Scholar; and finally his JD (in 1982) from the University of Pennsylvania. During his undergraduate studies, Mead conducted extensive travel and research in Africa, and later during his law studies he served in a number of legal positions in Hong Kong, Beijing and New York. Following the completion of his academic career, Scott Mead began his professional career in New York, initially at First Boston Corp. and later at Goldman Sachs & Company. Two years into his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Mead was relocated to the UK where he led and developed business initiatives in Europe and Asia on behalf of the company.
Activities and Philanthropy in the US & UK
A graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover Massachusetts and later Harvard College, today Mead has given back to his alma maters by acting as charter trustee at Phillips Academy, and endowing Harvard's Men's Tennis head coaching position. He also serves on the Global Advisory Council of the WTA Tour, a global governing body of women's professional tennis with its origins in the United States and today's additional headquarters located in London and Beijing. In the UK, Scott Mead is also involved in activities supporting the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, as well as the Tate Foundation.
Today
Currently, Scott Mead lives in the UK and is founding partner at Richmond Park Partners, a private merchant bank which was founded in 2009 and provides advisory services and asset management consulting. His personal interests include politics, world affairs, fine art photography and marathon running.
