Sridhar Bearelly is the former Managing Director of Lehman Brothers International, and the former Co-Head of CDOs and Structured Credit at the same company. While working with Lehman Brothers International in London, Mr. Bearelly was an active participant of the Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee of his department, specifically the Fixed Income Department of Lehman Brothers International. Mr. Sridhar Bearelly made the time to participate with the Steering Committee because he fully commits to encouraging inclusion in the workplace, as he believes it promotes a healthy feeling of community and safety: personal biases on the part of management should not hold employees back from their professional goals.
At a crucial point in modern economic history, Mr. Bearelly transferred from New York City to London in 2000 to establish the Lehman Brother’s European managed fund business. With the introduction of the Euro in 1999, a rapid development of Europe’s credit markets became triggered, allowing for investments in credit instruments across European jurisdictions that were previously unavailable to financiers. Investors across Europe began to view managed funds as valuable and efficient vehicles to gain regional credit exposure, and Mr. Bearelly’s spearheading of the managed fund sector of Lehman Brothers International in London was a remarkably well-timed venture.
Between 1997 and 2007, Lehman Brothers’ globally managed fund platform achieved strong revenue growth. In 2006, Sridhar Bearelly was honored for his effort and contributions to the Lehman Brothers firm’s clients, making him one of fifty employees (out of a pool of over 20,000 company-wide) singled out for his professional excellence.
