Uganda's Tourism has come a long way to where it is now and a lot has been done to develop it beginning with the gazetting of the ten uganda safari parks of Queen Elizabeth national park, Lake Mburo national park, Murchison falls national park, Kidepo Valley, Semliki, Kibale national park, Mgahinga, Bwindi national park, Rwenzori Mountains, Mt. Elgon and wildlife reserves of Katonga, Semliki, Pian-Upe, Matheniko, Ajai, Bokora, Kabwohe and others.
Efforts have been made through creating the ministry of Tourism now in the hands of Hon. Rukundo who of recent promised to build the bridges in Rwenzori NP and also encouraging good accommodation (five star hotels). The tourism industry has also been allocated funds through the national budget and step ups like the Uganda gifted by nature project are all endeavors to develop the industry.Mountain gorilla safari
Uganda's tourism is rich in attractions ranging from the cultural practices of the different tribes to the diverse wildlife and monumental structures. Tourism is rated as one of the main foreign income earners and one of the fastest growing industries in the country. It's also said to be a big employer both directly and indirectly since it cuts across a number of different industries including the country's back bone "Agriculture".
Uganda offers tourism activities of Gorilla tracking in uganda, Chimpanzee tracking, water tourism, cultural tourism, Kampala city tours, game tours, mountaineering tours and many interesting activities for people from all walks of life budget, mid range and luxury. There are also a variety of beaches on the shores of Lake Victoria either in Entebbe or Ssese and Kalangala islands where one can get to enjoy the best time of their lives.
Accessibility to most attractions is by road and by air using Airfields like Kasese and Mweya for Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo and Moroto for Kidepo Valley National Park, Lake Mburo can use Mbarara Airfield, tourists to Bwindi and Mgahinga use Kisoro Airfield, Jinja for Jinja town and Budhagali falls, Masindi and Pakuba for Murchison falls National Park. These services can be obtained from domestic Airlines like Eagle Air or through Tour operators.
Accommodation facilities are available everywhere in the towns and national parks in forms of hotels with first class services, lodges, safari camps, guesthouses, Bands and all other forms of accommodation facilities. And tour operators are always there to help you on making the best choice.
