Care Free Auto Transport transports your vehicle on an open car carrier, similar to the ones used to transport new cars from manufacturers to AUTO dealers. Your vehicle will be picked up at your door by a multiple car carrier or a flat-bed carrier. We then transport your AUTO to your specified destination. Pickup times are pre-arranged in advance and an estimated delivery date is given when the order is placed. This is the most convenient way to transport your vehicle .
We understand that some vehicles need special attention so we also offer enclosed transport for your auto transport needs. Your vehicle will be transport on a completely enclosed trailer designed to transport classic automobiles, prototypes or vehicles that cannot be exposed to inclement weather. We request that you schedule your move as soon as possible to insure that your car is moved within the time frame which best meets your schedule. However, if an immediate pick up is necessary, we can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up within 24 hours.

Will you pick up and deliver my vehicle door-to-door?

We do offer door-to-door auto transport service. However, there are instances that we cannot deliver directly to your door due to the size of our auto carriers. The size of your street may prohibit direct delivery to your door. Also, some towns and cities do not allow trucks on their streets. If we cannot get to your door, we will deliver your vehicle to the next most convenient, accessible location such as the nearest major crossing street, a shopping mall or supermarket.

How long will it take to pickup and deliver my vehicle?

Coast-to-coast trips usually take between 10 and 14 days. Shorter trips range from 3 to 10 days, depending on the actual distance. Some factors may delay a trip, including traffic, weather, and truck breakdowns.

What is an oversize fee?
A.
Some vehicles are much larger than traditional passenger vehicles. Most full size SUVs fit in to this category. Because of the extraordinary dimensions, these vehicles take up the amount of space normally used for two vehicles, thus resulting in the need for an "oversize" fee.

What if I cancel my order?
A.
You may cancel your order at any time as long as your vehicle has not been assigned to a truck for pick up. Any deposit that has been paid will be refunded, less a $35 administration fee if you paid with a check or credit card. If your vehicle has already been assigned to a carrier, the deposit is non-refundable. That money will be used to pay for the truck that is already in route to your pick up location.

Is my car insured?
A.
Your car is insured for the Blue Book value the entire time it is on the truck. Clearly listed on your Shipping Order and Bill of Lading are occurrences not covered. At the time of pick-up, a condition report is filled out and signed by both the person turning the car over and the truck driver and you are given a copy. Upon delivery of your vehicle, this same report is presented. You should compare the condition of the vehicle to the report thoroughly at that time. If you feel damage has occurred to your vehicle during delivery, you must note it on the report before you sign it and the driver leaves. Any claims made after the report has been signed will not be honored.

Do I have to be present when we pick up or deliver your vehicle?
A.
Yes, we request you, or a designated person, be present upon pick up of your vehicle. An inspection is performed and a contract bill of lading must be signed. If you are not able to be there, please call our Customer Service at 1-866-727-1996 and they will be happy to help you.

How do I prepare my vehicle?
A.
Please have a no more than 1/4 tank of fuel, remove all personal items from your vehicle, repair any chips and/or cracks in your windows and make sure your vehicle is prepared for changing weather conditions.

What if my vehicle does not run?
A.
We will add additional charges to cover an inoperable vehicle in our quote if you inform us up front of the vehicle's condition. We will add $200 plus loading and unloading charges to your quote if we are not informed of the vehicle's true condition.

If you have already been in contact with our offices and have received a quotation for the services required, you are ready to place your order.
Online Orders

Once you have accepted our price quote for transporting your car, we will mail, fax or e-mail the necessary Shipping Agreements to you. These you need to sign and return to us along with your deposit in the form of a Certified Check, Money Order or credit card. You can also download our Order Form and Terms & Conditions.

Upon receipt of your signed agreements and deposit, we will begin scheduling your car for transport.

Once a transporter has been assigned, the driver will contact the person at origin to schedule a time for pick up.

The driver will arrive to pick up your car and will inspect your vehicle for any pre-existing damage. The driver will give a copy of the inspection report to the person you have assigned to release your car. Your car will be loaded and will be in transport to your destination. The driver will be making stops along the way to load and unload additional cars that he has scheduled to move.

The driver will call within 24 hours of delivery to set up a time for delivering your car.
6.
Once at the destination, it is your responsibility to inspect the car and to note any pre-existing damage. These should be listed upon pick up and signed by the person authorized to release your car. Please be certain to note any damage not already on the Bill of Lading prior to signing the form. Should there be any damage, contact Care Free Auto Transport, Inc. at which time we will advise you on your claim. If the entire transport fee has not been prepaid, then upon delivery the balance is due to the driver in the form of cash or certified check only.
