Cliff Dodd is an IT professional who effected positive change in various industries of the market throughout his career. In addition to his considerable accomplishments in such capacities as Chief Information Officer (CIO) with Qwest Communications International, and, later, with Kaiser Permanente (where he also served as Chief Administration Officer) supporting the Kaiser Permanente Health Foundation.  As Kaiser CIO, Cliff Dodd led the IT contingent together with key business leaders to select, develop and implement the largest electronic medical record system, KP HealthConnect, in the world to fundamentally shift the quality of care paradigm while lowering costs.

Mr. J. Clifford Dodd effected several substantial achievements at Ameritech Services (now AT&T) and American Express (AMEX). From 1981 to 1994, Cliff Dodd’s career was a fast paced progression of strategically important roles from large scale operations management to the delivery of precedent setting image technology that enabled AMEX to maintain its differentiation in the card market for years. Cliff Dodd ultimately held complete oversight for all systems and software development with American Express’ offices in Phoenix, Arizona. As Senior Vice President of American Express’ North America Systems & Software Development department, Mr. J. Cliff Dodd established the vision of his department and led a complete re-engineering of the systems development life cycle across the AMEX corporation. While accelerating cycle times as much as 30% at AMEX, Mr. Cliff Dodd also succeeded in delivering 12 million dollars in annual savings to the company, among other accomplishments.

Following his successes with AMEX, in 1994, Cliff Dodd began the next phase of his career with Ameritech Services, Inc., a telecommunications (telecom) services firm where Mr. Dodd held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO). During Mr. J. Clifford Dodd’s time with the company, Ameritech offered its services to over 12 million customers across the midwestern region of the United States, and Clifford Dodd, CIO, personally oversaw over 5,000 employees with a 1.3 billion dollar annual budget. Cliff Dodd was hired as part of a management team to lead transformational levels of change, that is, deliver a breakthrough resulting in the implementation of a single merged billing system with dozens of advanced features that enabled Ameritech to exploit markets it could not have approached previously. This was accomplished while simultaneously reducing the overall IT expense, expressed as a percent of revenue, from 12% to just over 6%.

Mr. Cliff Dodd is a skilled CIO and business executive who has proven himself capable of streamlining business structures and improving labor efficiency through the intelligent use of technology and application of governance and decision making frameworks. J. Cliff Dodd’s ability to adapt and communicate his ideas to others earned him an esteemed reputation as a reliable, effective, and able leader in market sectors across the board. Based upon the respect Cliff Dodd has earned in the industry, he is often sought for council and has been quoted numerous times by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Newsweek, CIO Magazine, The New York Times Business Week, Information Week, ComputerWorld and several other news media sources.
