Before joining AstraZeneca in 2010, John served as Head of Neuroscience Biomarkers and Integrative Solutions at Johnson & Johnson. In this capacity, John led a team of MD and PhD experts across the domains of pharmacogenomics, imaging, informatics, translational science, and diagnostics to improve pipeline productivity and gain an early understanding of patient populations in Psychiatry, Pain, and Alzheimer's. While at J&J, John also co-founded the Companion Diagnostic Center of Excellence, led the Informatics Center of Excellence, and served as the Chief Information Officer of Janssen Pharmaceuticals R&D function.
John Reynders earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Reynders possesses a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as a Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Princeton University.
John Reynders has been an active member in numerous professional societies related to science, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Physical Society (APS), the Association of Computing Machinery, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
In his free time, John Reynders is very active in philanthropic activities. He has supported the Special Olympics, the National Down Syndrome Society, and the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Society. Mr. Reynders currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts.
