“NOSCE TE IPSVM - CARPE DIEM”
Au terme d'une entière carrière d'Officier de marine, dans la Marine Militaire italienne, je suis devenu historien de la marine de l'ancienne Rome. En effet, le domaine historique dans lequel j'ai concentré mes études et mes écrits est bien celui de la Ville Eternelle et de l'Empire romain, surtout pour ses très importants aspects maritimes et navals.
Quelques éléments sur les résultats auxquels je suis parvenu peuvent être trouvés dans les nombreuses pages (presque toutes en italien, sauf quelques unes en français) de mon site ROMA AETERNA.
Le long de mes recherches historiques j'ai publié plusieurs livres et des essais en italien. Je suis aussi le coauteur, avec la journaliste parisienne Cristina Rodriguez, d'un roman historique en français: "Le César aux pied nus", Flammarion, Paris, 2002 (700 pages).

RESUME

Storico di Roma antica, con una particolare attenzione verso gli aspetti navali e marittimi, ad iniziare dal valore del potere marittimo per le esigenze della grande strategia.
La sua prima opera storica è stata "CLASSICA", una storia navale e marittima di Roma antica in dodici volumi, pubblicata dalla Rivista Marittima - l'ultracentenario mensile della Marina Militare Italiana - nell'arco di dodici anni (1992-2003).
Historian of ancient Rome, mainly focusing on the naval and maritime aspects, starting from the value of sea power for the needs of the great strategy.
His first historical work was "CLASSICA", a naval and maritime history of ancient Rome in twelve volumes, published by the Rivista Marittima - the monthly magazine of the Italian Navy - in twelve years (1992-2003).
